Naming your kids - 04-29-2011, 02:47 PM

How did you do it?

My coworker did a theme and their names all start with A. My first we literally flipped pages of a name book and liked it. The second kids name is proving to be more difficult.

We had a hard time and went back and fourth on a few names until one day we snapped to an idea and took the middle names of both our mothers. It was quick, stress free, had meaning and thankfully goes well together.

Good luck.

good friends name as first, my name as middle sounded good to us so we went with it. If he had been a she my wife always loved Kaitlyn which is not a family or friend name :)

I hate themed names (especially alliteration or rhyming for twins).

We haven't gotten there quite yet, but I know we dont like a lot of the names.

At least we will have a time limit when it comes down to it.

Pick a name....go outside and yell it as loud as you can. If you can yell it and it flows smoothly...it's a good name.

The yelling with the middle name has been employed. haha We did that for the first kid too.

women are crazy and most of us have them picked out already... so whenever I have kids (I have decided I have to since I'm the only offspring my parents have) I'll compromise with the man.. who is hopefully my husband at that point. ha.

I think if it's a name with good connotations (for you and the wifey) that isn't too common or too crazy, it should work.

cause lord knows after 18 years you're gonna hate that name anyway...

Name it after the place of conception. That's what David Beckham did with his kid, Brooklyn.

Hoping my wife doesn't get pregnant when we are in Dubrovnik.

I just wanted my kids names not to be some kind of food, or along those retarded lines. I picked a beautiful name for my daughter and a strong Irish name for my son.

We are dealing with this right now...

Everyone has opinions... not sure any are good.

Pretty sure we are going with my father in-laws name which happens to by my grand father's name. The other name has been a challenge.

We had two girls names and one boy name picked out before #1 was born. "She" came out and I went "OH S^&*, I have to pick a name!"

#2 is a girl, but we don't like the other name we had picked, so we need something new.
