Hi I'm in the city for 3 days. I'm looking for subject matter to shoot for my series alleys and ruins. I've been working on the series for 20 years but have never shot in dallas. You can see the series at Xavier Nuez.
Any help would be great!

asking permission.... - 05-07-2011, 12:30 PM

I'm looking for ideas on how best to ask permission to shoot on someone's property.

A) Write them a letter and include a self addressed stamped envelope for their reply.

2) Show up in person, introduce yourself and explain why you are asking to shoot on their property.

or?????

If you're the friendly sort, I'd show up with a few prints and a bizz card to give them an idea of what youre doing. Mail is a problem - they need to trust and like you to give you permission.
If this is personal wrk, emphasize this, because they may see dollar signs otherwise. Also, offer them a print of the final image and make sure to follow through.
Now, can you help me find run down bldg's in Dallas?

Wish I could help you, Xavier. I'm not sure of any really close to Dallas. You have some great images on your site and I hope you are able to find some. I don't think Dan's post was very helpful either.

Do a search on here for little bagdad and see if thats the type of thing you want. Otherwise, just East of 75 and maybe in the fair park area.
