Art Car PArade - 05-20-2011, 07:23 PM

Anyone here ever been the art car parade? It is this Sunday on the Allen Parkway from 1-3. I have been looking forward to this for a while. Any one have any suggestions for where to watch from etc.

Very interesting and lots of photo ops.
Park on Smith and walk down to Bagby and Gray. There are some very good spots there. Take a flash for fill as the time of day is not perfect for photos. Saturday night at Discovery Green is also a good time.

We are going to Discovery Green tomorrow evening also. I was debating bringing my flash or just using the built in when necessary. During the parade might I get close enough for it to be useful?

I used an SB-800 at the parade along with a 70-200 VR. You will be standing on the curb and the cars are in the center of the street so fill flash works great. If you get on Gray the cars will be coming into the sun when they turn the corner on Bagby to go West on Gray and back out Allen Parkway.

Thanks again. I was thinking I would bring my 16-35 for the pre-parade stuff and the 70-300 for the actual parade. I think I will bring the external flash too.
