Tornadic activity over Bedford & Grapevine - 05-24-2011, 11:30 PM

This is looking northward from my street. It hasn't been confirmed by the weather service as an actual tornado yet, but it sure looked like one or a very low wall cloud. Either way, some damage was done from what I understand.

Saw 2 different areas in Bedford tonight that looked just like that. I live off 121 and Bedford Rd, saw rain moving in sheets in a circular pattern so might have had something going on with that. Large hail here too. Glad it wasnt anything too serious.

We saw that with the rain too. Strangest thing I've seen rain do. A friend of my son lives in that area and said that there was a little damage. I haven't been over there though.

As luck would have it, we were in the hole in the donut for tonights weather. Independence at Legacy. Maelstrom a couple of miles out in any cardinal direction.

Pretty intense stuff around us also, lots of rotation in the clouds. Rufe Snow at 820 had a bunch of debris and blown over signs this morning.

Question Spring "Entertainment"? - 05-25-2011, 08:52 AM

I love how we spend many days in the Spring here in North Texas: watching an all-orange or red TV screen, listening for sirens to wail, with jaws clenched, waiting to scurry into the bathroom. Some fun?

Is it odd that one of the first things I grabbed, when I ran into our laundry room, was my camera? LOL...I think we had 4 separate siren alarms go off.
