its about 5pm and me and a coworker are driving back to houston from louisiana...

I work for an enginering company and from time to time we need to travel an go offshore to various platforms and such...

today was one of those days...

woke up this morning at 1:45am

met and left the office at 3:00am

drove close to 5 hours to a heliport in louisiana. tons of fog so we didn't fly out til about 10am. the flight took about an hour, then spent about 4 hours inspecting and assessing the platform.

flew back and nows its rush hour in some little town out in the middle of nowhere and we still have about another 4+ hours to go.

so... it has indeed been a long day and its not even close to being over... hehee

I hope that at least you had some good seafood while you where there! I truly didn't know what good seafood was until I visited Louisianna.

Now...go get some sleep, Abel!

what were you doing on the platform? that quick of a job sounds like engineering consulting? i have a bit of experience with the land-based oil industry (more on the chemical side of things).

didnt eat seafood unfortunately... just a cold cut sandwich hehe

our client is looking to add more production equipment to the platform in order to handle a new incoming line... since the platform was built like in '78 we were there to take a bunch of field measurements, photos and kinda see what room we had to work with etc.

we'll prolly make a couple more trips out there before the project is completed..
