Open Call for Photo Exhibition Submissions!

Hello all!

My name is Jason Elias and I am curating a multi-artist Photography Show in Los Angeles for a non-profit Arts Organization called CREATE:FIXATE. Create:Fixate is calling for submissions for the upcoming 2007 All-Photography Create:Fixate Show. We are gearing up for our next annual show and we hope to build upon the great success and phenomenal artists we had in last year’s show. So if you or anyone you know has work that might be appropriate for the show, we encourage you to either submit or forward this email on to them!

The shows are one night events and typically have 1200-1500 people come through over the course of the evening. In addition, we work with KCRW and have their DJ's spin in addition to live Photography work going on in different areas of the venue. Create:Fixate runs 10 shows a year, but only one Annual All-Photography Show. For more info about the organization, go to:http://www.CreateFixate.com

As a general idea of the show, it is open to all forms of photography and themes. We are also open to any format and technique. The only qualification to this comes in the realm of manipulated digital imaging. There are no strict guidelines here for what is and what is not acceptable for the All-Photography Show, but as a rule of thumb, if it was originally created with an imaging capture device of some kind (yeah, a camera), then it is open for inclusion in the show. Other than that, the more creative the images the better!

Below you’ll find the rules for submission and these are important! Though we try to be as open as possible, we deal with many more submissions than we can accept into the show. For this reason, any submissions not following the guidelines will not be reviewed for inclusion.

GUIDELINES FOR SUBMISSION:

Please send all submissions to Jason Elias at the following email address: photo@createfixate.com

• Submission should consist of 10-12 jpeg images, no larger than 700 pixels to a side. If you have a slow internet connection, please send them in batches of 2 or 3 images at a time.
• Please title the submission email “Create:Fixate Submission” so that my email filter lets it through.
• You may also submit a website or MySpace page, but specify a particular section or special page with only 10-12 images. With so many submissions to look at, I unfortunately can’t go through entire websites and so when sent to a website with dozens of images, I end up not going through any of it at all.
• I will accept non-emailed submissions, but I really discourage you from doing this because with the organization of the show as well as with my regular work, it may be months before I am able to get your prints or slides back to you.

SUBMISSION DEADLINE IS: APRIL 30, 2007

Other than that, I am excited about seeing the work out there and we are looking forward to our best Photography Show yet!
