Titles for Membership Levels - Suggestions Please! - 05-01-2007, 07:40 PM

Okay! Here is the thread in which we can brainstorm our titles for membership levels in the forum. Come on, get those creative brains working....

So far I have come up with one:

Hot Shot

I don't know where it would come in the list, but it should be somewhere near the top - if people like it!

I like these, with some minor changes...

0 posts should be a "Shade" or perhaps a "Pariah"
1-30 posts should be a "Peon"
"Overseer" comes to mind as a higher-up title. Maybe instead of "Deity"

We could always rework the forum like the masons or a guild, with Apprentice, Journeyman, etc.

I was thinking also that we should have other "awards" of a sort recognizing most threads started, most gallery photos reviewed, etc. Perhaps even medals for highest avg photo rating. Branching out the title system seems like an interesting way to get people more involved in more aspects of the site, even rewarding them, albeit intangibly, with some recognition. The only caveat is that these other awards must in some way be engineered so Snarfy cannot take them all!

hahaha, i'm actually not unemployed right now. between being a student, a server at a restaurant, and taking the occaisional paid/unpaid photo event, i'm plenty busy. I find the time for this site by sacrificing sleep! =)

oh and mark, whats wrong with me winning them all? =P

Contests - 05-07-2007, 10:46 PM

Snarfy,
The problem with you winning them all, is then the other folks just stop trying. I run into that very same issue at work with contests. There is one guy who always has the answer, and it's correct, so everyone else just stopped trying. So they quit doing contests. Everyone got tired of me, er, ah, that guy winning.
