Finally! An Avatar - 05-27-2007, 10:37 PM

Well, I finally have an Avatar. It took me long enough to figure out what I wanted to do for it. Yes, that's me. I'm at work, and that was a state of the art eight inch silicon wafer. I say was, because now 12 inch wafers are state of the art.
If your computer says Intel Inside, there is a chance that I had something to do with it. But if you have any problems with it, that guy doesn't work there anymore.

Cool avatar, but I've got to say, I didn't get it at first. I totally thought you were wearing an turban or something. I feel dumb now that I see that's TOTALLY wrong, but I thought my initial reaction was funny. And heck, it's good to share funny things.

PS - how'd you get the photo...both hands are on the wafer!

Hmm, now I'm supposed to give away ALL of my secrets? LOL.
Let me tell you, I took about ten photos before I got it lined up the way I wanted. I set the camera on a toolbox and used the self timer. I lined it up using the view window on my Powershot G2, but then had to turn around and re-align in the reflection of the wafer. Hence the need to try it a few times.
Everyone at work has to wear what is called a Bunny Suit. No, there are no ears or tail. It's a goretex suit, hood, and boots. We also have to wear safety glasses and gloves.
