Anyone going out to take some pictures this weekend?

http://fleetweek.us/fleetweek

I was out for lunch today around the pier area, and the blue angels are flying. I'll bring my 70-200 to work tomorrow and try to snap some pics outside.

wow that would be cool...

we just had the airshow here in houston this past weekend and we always get the thunderbirds... it would be cool to get the angels back. shooting blue planes is much more pleasing than white ones... hehe.

I beg to differ. The Blues are spectacular jets but, dude! dark blue against the lighter sky...such contrast problems. If the shadows pop the details...the sky is blown out...if the sky is good, blocky in the shadows. Fleet week SF is good...from the Ft Point side....no back light.

Photogenically...I'd have to go with Canada's Snowbirds! Have never seen England's Red Arrows but have been told, not only are they just a beauty to photograph...RED against a blue sky, but they are the best team show on earth. I always love to watch the Thunderbirds. Plus they have a lady pilot

past few years we've had the airshow we've gotten rained on so we havent had those lovely blue skies. Even this past weekend at the airshow we got rain. ugh.

White planes on all white cloud cover is not very contrasty in our case.... so in other words we're in opposite needs. white planes on blue background is best for you (i wish we could get those skies).... but in our case we need blue planes because of our white cloudy background! Hehee.
