Usually in bed by 10. Can't remember the last New Years I saw.

Hope everyone has a safe and fun time tonight.

My wife Rose and my son Alexander, she was giving his bottle.

My Grandmother Tonton, watching over the family.

My dad Cal and my nephew Cameron, my dad was showing him his flight simulator.

One of my brothers Robin and my mom Rita making something.

My nephew Caydon, who I just caught sneeking a soda

He knows he should not have it so he is giving it to me

He decided to take a swing of it first.

and of course, myself and my son. It was kind of hard taking a image of myself, I just focused on the couch, set the timer on the camera and jumped in the shot. I should have used a Tripod instead of the monopod.

Nice set of images, the reason why I am able to put captions before each image is that I am actually hosting the images at one of my personal web sites. One of the perks to having my own set of servers, especially when they are barely used.

These are all from New Years Day. The type of sunset you wish you could see every night of the year. Cheers!

Scott, i think youre using the 50 f1.8 in the images you posted. a few of them seem out of focus. one thing ive learned is that with a fast prime such as a 50 f1.8 there is no room for recomposition after locking focus to a point. the depth of field is SO shallow that simply recomposing will lose your original focal point... I think that may have been the case in these. for instance in the last shot it seems his collar around the tshirt is in focus and not he himself.

I typically never shoot wide open at f1.8, I usually stop down to f2 or f2.5 which gives me a tad more depth of field and a little more wiggle room. I also adjust my AF point (to the left, right, top or bottom) so that I dont have to recompose after I lock my focus.

Jessica, I love the sunset shots... those are awesome!
