It's chivalrous to stick it out, but, like you said, kids gotta get fed. That's a hard situation.

Do you have anything you can do on the side to maintain your own bank account?

Sorry you're in the predicament.

That's what parents do.

For me, It would depend on how long I had already invested with the same boss...How well had he treated me over the time I worked there...and how much I had in my reserve to make ends meet till the boss gets solvent. It would make me cranky if the check bounced though. Really cranky.

I actually just got paid...from November this last week. But I've been putting my resume out there like crazy for a new job. My boss knows, its sad to think of moving on to somewhere more secure...but with kids...gotta be secure.

And dont be too proud to ask dad...If ONLY I could go back in time and take that advice for my self..I'd have saved my self so much grief. LOL.

So the biggest question is how much FAITH do you have in your boss and your current job?

I hate to say this, but really, you should never be put in the situation in which your paycheck bounces. If yout paycheck bounces, then I'm sure other things are also bouncing or are going to bounce. Did your boss bounce any of his or her PERSONAL checks? How is he paying his bills?

Are you willing to let your credit get damaged by not having funds to take care of YOUR needs? Are you willing to keep going to your family and friends to cover your needs in order to make ends meet?

Basically, I think you should start looking for another place to work, a bounced check is a major warning that your employment is far from being stable.

Tough situation Patty... I would prolly do what others are suggesting... quietly look for another job so that youre not in a financial bind because of your employer. Employers should be the ones helping you get out of a financial bind by simply paying you for the work youve done and not be the reason for one.

good luck indeed.
