Photographic "Walkabout" - 03-14-2009, 09:00 PM

Well folks, it's getting down to the wire.
I have about ten weeks of work left before they close the FAB.

On June 12th, my nephew will be graduating High School in Santa Maria.
I'm going to be heading out from there, on a little photographic journey.

My plans are to head southward, and then hang a left toward Arizona.
If all goes well, I'll be meeting another photographer for the weekend of the 20th and 21st for shooting either the North Rim of the Grand Canyon or some Slot Canyons (plenty of time to decide still).

After that, I'll be heading back up Highway 395 toward Bodie and Mono Lake.

Are there any "Must See" locations anyone wants to suggest?
Would anyone care to meet up for a day of shooting along the way? :w00t:

Thanks Abel.

I bought a book about Arizona locations, and after browsing through it,
it seems like I might just be spending more time in Arizona than in California.

I highly recommend that! Well, So cal has nice things but right now my heart is in the red rocks. Go towards Vegas and see Valley of Fire State park. Then head over to the Virgin River gorge and into that area of North Rim Grand Canyon.

Funny you should mention the North Rim.
That's where I was looking at heading. :)

I'll check it out. But I may be getting kind of homesick by then. We shall see.

North shore of Mono Lake is a really nice place. Abel, are you going to bring some of your studio lights?
