Tragedy in Oakland

My heart goes out to the families and friends of three slain police officers in Oakland.

I know that many law enforcement people are members of this forum, and I know that they are devastated by this tragedy.

They risk it all every time they put on the uniform, and we sometimes forget that when things go bad, they are our friends.

The fourth officer also died.

I work with law enforcement and we get information about officers (statewide, I believe) who die while on duty. It is very sad. I couldn't do their job, but I'm glad there are folks who can.
