Spam for me. Myspace just has too much of it. The selectable networks are much easier to use. You can network with people you actually want to based on your location, school, work, etc.

I have to say I like the visual layout of Myspace...once you get past the long load up of the entry page which is really a huge advert, its an easier interface.
There are an awful alot of adverts on Myspace. It used to be fun in the old days...like when it first started. Before it got all popular and over the news.now it is just another web place. Most of my peeps moved to Facebook so my Myspace is pretty dead.

Facebook seems to be riding the popluar wave just now. Just like Myspace was about 18 months to 2 years ago. I think Facebook has the most unpleasing visual interface and its difficult to get the hang of where things are located. There is so much to manage too...you've got your profile, your wall, you notices, then your groups and aps. Dude! some people just go crazy with all the aps. And then your notices are all filled with "send a smile" or "send a drink" It was way better before all that nonsense.

Its easier to find your former classmates and family on Facebook. I think it is much more grown up oriented. Somedays I dont mind that all your friends can see what your other friends post on your wall...the equivalent to the "comment" section on myspace. Sometimes, I feel like maybe its a little much for the whole of everyone you know gets a little bite of your life ALL THE TIME!

I agree Windy. I like the look of MySpace, I spent a long time customizing my MySace page. But the aps on Facebook is a bit over-done. I use both, as well as Twitter....just because it's there. I don't spend a lot of time there, but I just wanted something out there for me and/or my "business".

I still use Myspace in order to help build our member base here on CPF... But for my own personal use I find myself liking facebook more.

I was never too crazy about all fo the customization that myspace allowed you to do on your pages. I mean if done correctly sure its nice and looks good but ive been to way too many profile pages that made my browser crash. not good. music playing eveyrywhere, slide shows things that take forever to load, crazy blinkity blink GIFs in peoples comments, and all of this other funky mess that i dont care to mess with. hehee..

facebook is clean and simple.

most of the people i spoke to on myspace migrated over to facebook as well leaving their myspace page in limbo..

if youre a working photographer that relies on clients and such for income then you should have pages on BOTH myspace and facebook in my opinion. they are both one of the best marketing tools available and the best part about them is that theyre absolutely free!

Hmmm.. Neither of them - 04-13-2009, 10:27 PM

Not really liking any social sites anymore. Good old fashing website building is what I like. Myspace is to full of spam and well, drama queens. Good place to get the word out but one thing I found when I used it for my music, out of close to 10k friends, very few make an attempt to really care about your art. Facebook is more for real friends.

One good community site I would suggest is deviantart.com. It's geared more for artist, photographers ect.

im liking FB more and more now...

i never liked the extent that people could customize their myspace pages.. many i visited loaded way too slow since they had so much garbage on there and you gotta love the ones that have black text on a black backgound... and you have to highlight the entire page just to see what the page says. uh hello... hehe. go figure.

FB is clean and simple... well mostly simple. ha!
