Hey... let's fly a jumbo jet (Air Force One) around lower manhattan nyc so that we can get some updated photos of it in flight and NOT tell anyone about it... Im sure it will be fine.. No worries... Riiiiigggghhhttt...

Those Air Force One Photos Better Be Worth It

People who work in Lower Manhattan freaked out this morning—with good reason—when they spotted a low-flying jumbo jet and fighter jets circling the city and the Statue of Liberty.

It turned out to be a photo op for the Air Force, which evidently wanted shots of its aircraft flying menacingly close to a major metropolitan area on a sunny weekday morning. The flyover was planned in advance but kept secret from the public until it was actually happening (presumably for security reasons). Some offices were evacuated and local news media went into overdrive.
