My newest project - 06-02-2009, 09:48 AM

I have decided to share my newest project here. It's going to be a "Picture a Day" project but with a twist. It's going to be documenting my facial recovery. This past Sunday I was diagnosed with Bells Palsy. So I have decided to track my progress through pictures. I'm not comfortable posting the pictures just yet but they will be coming soon.

Those of you not familiar with Bells (I know I had never heard of it until 2 days ago), it is caused by an inflamed nerve in the face and causes some paralysis on one side of the face. So I am trying to deal with certain things not working as they should, eating is a whole new ballgame. Burgers are now a no-no, found that out the hard way, and drinking is an adventure.

Did they check you for lyme disease? Considering where you have to sit sometimes that is a possibility. Hope the drugs work.

All my blood work came back clean, they didn't do a CT and when I meet with my Dr. today i am going to demand one, just to rule out it wasn't a stroke. Only real issue is occasional double vision. Thats keeping me off the road right now and thats not a good thing. I'm about to enter the busiest month I have on my schedule.

Wow, sorry to hear that Steve.

I'd offer to help out and drive you places if I could, but this just became a busier month for me.
Not only do I have my trip planned, my parents just sold their house in Napa and need help moving. To Concord.

At least they'll be close to me if they need help.

Thanks Alan. I don't think I could ask anyone to try and keep up with me on my schedule this month. I'm hoping to be back on the road by the 17th, well I have to be on the road by then, I have a plane ticket to Tuscon that day and I'm driving back to Fairfield the next , followed by banzai runs between Infineon, Chico and Antioch over the next 3 days.

I am very familar with Bell's Palsy...but not from having it. I was misdiagnosed with Bell's but actually had a brain tumor...not to scare you, but definitely get an MRI.

I understand feeling unready to post the photos, lets hope that it is only Bell's palsy and passes in a few weeks.
