Thank you Mr. Tax Man - 03-06-2010, 10:36 AM

My Cali tax refund hit my bank account yesterday so I went a pulled the trigger on this!

70-200 f2.8 IS

I found it used in Craigslist in Berkeley and drove out and picked it up last night. Looks almost as sharp as Kevin's 300mm! I feel like one of the big boys now. All I have to do is build up the arm muscles!

(My 70-200 f4 will be in the used section in just a bit.)

Is your F4 IS?
The 70-200's are sharper than the 300 by a tad but the F4 is sharper by two tads.

In that case, I have $20. You should keep it just for the IQ.
My neighbor is considering purchasing the IS.

Congrats on the lens Rog, but the back of the lens is blown out in the image. :p

Hey Roger, just a thought - you might want to hang onto that 70-200 f4. It's a nice little lens. .. often underrated .. maybe because it doesn't look as cool as the white lens. ( who knows). I've got both, but have often used the lighter weight lens when I'm in a situation where I know I won't need a faster lens (for bokeh or light) and don't want to lug the weight around. It's just nice having both. .. just thought I'd throw that idea out there.

The majority of my shooting is horse events and/or horse related. .. so it's a little different than what you do. BTW, Nice website you've got there.

You know, the funny thing is....
When Roger told me that he was buying the 2.8 and wanted to sell the 4.0, I told him that Steve might be interested in it. :D

I was thinking to myself as I was driving home from Tulare Saturday morning that I really need to figure out a way to get a 70-200. I may have to sell my Norman stuff to replenish the funds.

Expect a call on Monday Roger...lol
