wow.... saw a bunch of snow today here in houston... had to run to camera co-op on Durham and there was a bunch over there... got back home here on the NW side and at about 5pm or so my red car was white!

very cool... just not the norm for a houston christmas...

Yeah, its the first time I can remember Austin being too far NORTH to get any snow...lol Did see some sleet friday night south of Smithville though. Was the northern edge of that system that got you guys.

There has never been a white Christmas in Houston. This is some info that was in the Chronicle and I posted on my regular blog. This was obviously printed BEFORE December 24th of this year. :)

HOUSTON'S CHRISTMAS WEATHER HISTORY
• Snow: Never
• Closest dates: Dec. 22, 1989, 1.7 inches of snow; Dec. 21-22, 1929, 2.5 inches.
• Coldest: 1983. High 28, low 11.
• Warmest: 1897. High 78, low 51.
• Average: High 65, low 43.

Yeah, Austin is still in the "never" category as far as snow on Christmas.

It was my first white Christmas. I grew up south of San Antonio and my wife grew up just north of Laredo. We were at her Dad's home over Christmas. Here's what it looked like Christmas Day -

man just imagine the chances of Texas getting snow to begin with much less the chances of getting snow on Chrsitmas Eve and/or Day. wow.

I missed it too. I went up to my grandmother's in east texas and it didn't snow there. I've been pouting for days. :lol:
