Officer Killed - 05-30-2011, 08:54 PM

Please keep Officer Keving Will in your thoughts and prayers. He was run over and killed by a drunk driver this weekend. We lost a friend and co-worker to a senseless act. In the 10 years I have been an officer, this was by far the hardest crash scene for me to work.

That is truely unfortunate. My condolences and prayers to the family and friends.

My condolences as well. Our local p.d. has been very busy this weekend too. This is most certainly NOT what Memorial Day is supposed to be about.

We will be keeping the officer, his family, you and your family in our thoughts and prayers. From the new stories, it was appears to be a senseless accident. I hope the accused is convicted, sentenced to hard time and then deported.

It happens more and more every year; the holiday is progressively less about remembering fallen service members and more about a long weekend, sales and parties. I went to the American Legion's ceremony here, and was thinking that any store having a Memorial Day sale was probably more crowded than that cemetery was.

Bexar County Sheriff's Sgt Kenneth Vonn was gunned down in his car at a stop light in San Antonio while responding to a call for service. His killers are on the loose, and it is unknown why he was targeted to be murdered. He was murdered at Loop 410 and Rigsby at 2 am Saturday morning. His bullet riddled car and body were found shortly after the murder.

I keep all LEO in my prayers... those current and those that have gone before us. ODMP should be a routine visit for everyone.

Godspeed.
