Galveston Flagship Hotel - demolished - 06-08-2011, 09:29 PM

After having driven by it in January, the outer walls of the hotel were still up, while in Galveston saturday night with Keith and Craig, I had wondered what has been done with it. So I searched flickr and well, it's either gone or what's left is just the pier.

Pretty good explanation of why it was demolished, sort of.

I think it would be cool to see it return to its original form, a fun plex.

you can buy that spot on the seawall. They have a for sale sign right where the stairs use to be.

Ditto for me!!! I spent many vacations & weekends there & sometimes just a casual day sitting on the pier & listening to the Gulf!! It always reminded me of some great memories, I miss it!!

Im not old enough to have ever known that pier as anything other than the Flagship. In fact we were born the same year. But it seems like a better use of it to return in to its original intent.
