Porn in high school yearbook?

It sounds to me like the whole "porn" thing has gotten a little out of hand in this case--no pun intended. I didn't see the photo, but if the offending couple was in the background, it would seem to me that charging someone with possessing child pornography is going a little far.

Was the activity in the photo inappropriate? Yes. Should the photo have been included int he book? No. Should someone be put on the sex-offender registry for possessing the book with the photo in it? Definitely not.

To my way of thinking, a better way of handling it would have been a letter saying something to the effect of "an inappropriate photo was inadvertently included in the yearbook on page xx. We apologize for this unintentional inclusion and if you would like the photo edited in your copy of the yearbook, please bring it to..."

I would think the first person in line would have been the girl in the photo, if she was identifiable. I could just see, 20 years down the road: "Mom! That's YOU!"...

I tried googling it to see what the fuss was about. Didn't really find the picture in question, so I gave up. Feels like if I keep looking for it Chris Henson is gonna knock on my door.

While this story is a bit different, it should be something that yearbook advisors consider when they allow so many people to submit prints for inclusion in a yearbook.

By allowing so many people to submit photos, they will need to look at every shot carefully to make sure there is nothing objectionable, which can sometimes be difficult to see.

I am clearly not good at making a point about anything.

My only point was that since some yearbook advisors have decided to accept images form various sources they will need to be careful and look at each image in order to avoid something like this in the future.

Detectives were contacting students who haven't turned in yearbooks with a warning they could face a charge of possessing child porn.

That's a bit... heavy handed.

Well sometimes when you see an opening you just have to reach out and grab it
