Thanks,
Don | Unfortunately not. According to the USO it only happens at the Atlanta and DFW airports. | | | | | Sponsored Links | Premium Members do not see Google advertisements. SIGN UP today and help support our community.

As someone said to me, if this experience doesn't move you - then you need to see a Dr. Homecoming by Jeff Clow, on Flickr | | | |

I want to join Jeff in recommending you participate in this daily event.
I have gone to welcome the troops home several times. It started as part of an assignment for a college class. After the first time it was much easier to go again. I don't think I would have done it on my own. I would have wimped out. I think it takes a lot of courage to do the first time.
Please let me encourage you to go. Before you get there you may feel awkward, out of place and want to chicken out. DON"T! It is an UNBELIEVABLE experience not only for the troops but for you too. You will never forget it, I promise.

I wonder if they have a flight in on Independence Day? Wouldn't that be cool to welcome them home on the Fourth of July?
I see this on the website:
June and July: On even days, flights will arrive at 8 a.m. at Terminal D, Gate 22
Anybody game ? What a great chance to show support for our troops, on such a special day!
Let's get a group together, and do it!

Not very OT: I know there are a few folks on here who are a part of Operation Love Reunited. It's a group that does photo shoots to boost morale of our deployed servicemen and women. One of the types of shoots they offer is a homecoming. I've never been to one, but it's a pretty big deal.
If anyone is interested, info is at Operation: Love ReUnited (TM) - FREE Photography Sessions for deploying, depolyed and returning military families. 501(c)3 Non Profit Organization and they do have a great need for photographers at homecomings. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
