...that a monopod could be so complex? Yes, these are verbatim (including spelling) instructions from my latest impulse buy....

1. Retain the instruction to operate the monopod carefully.
2. Make sure the knob and plateform are fixed when moving the monopod.
3. Do not be excess loading operation.
4. Do not use the product in the thunder and lighting environment.
5. Do not move the product loading with any facilities.
6. Make the product clean when not used.

for $10 (new!) it works wonderfully. btw, Bower monopod from Fry's. $9.95. seriously. works like a champ. I could trash it, buy another, trash that one, and buy a 3rd and still be out less $ than if I had bought the Manfrotto.

I've seen the Bower lenses on B+H and was wondering where on Earth they came from....a Bower lens I might have 2nd thoughts about, but a collapsible stick with a screw on the end? not so much.

You read instructions? And for a monopod?

For $10 you got a chuckle and a monopod . . . not bad

I'm not concerned the instructions are so poorly written, or you actually read them. What I find amazing is you admitted you read them. Name: 2funny.gif

and a drawstring slipcase to boot! a true bargain! I only found the 'instructions' when I tore up the box to put it in the recycle bin....hello, what's this? instructions?

It also says: " Before operating the equipment, please read the manual carefully and retain the instruction."

there's a MANUAL, too???? (never found it, btw)

hey, I'm a charter member of Engrish.com (not really)... our trips to Japan in the 90s opened our eyes to the vast opportunities for native English advertising copywriters for ESL folks.

In all humble honesty, even their broken English is a lot better than my Japanese/Chinese.

That's what you get when kids are assembling monopods instead of being in school.

BTW, guilty too.
