Lake houston my family use to go up to I was wee little so dont remember how the fishing was. You could always go down to Angleton

How old are your kids? If they are little and you just want them to catch fish, the pond by the zoo is a great place for that.

I think most ponds are stocked? You can google the parks you're interested or check the city sites to see which are and aren't. I see a lot of people on the western? end (by Hwy 90) of Oyster Creek fishing all the time. some guys post up at the dam by the boathouse I row at and have caught some pretty sizeable stuff. otherwise there's people fishing in most lake/ponds I see at parks.
