In what seems like more of an Onion article, this real news first made us chuckle and then made us worry about the safety of our precious cargo when flying. You’d never think to worry about that two-minute separation from your bags as TSA agents watch them through the X-ray machine. However, one TSA agent found a way to make a few extra bucks by stealing up to $50,000 in electronics from unknowing passengers

I was flying back to Houston yesterday and got gate raped by the TSA at security check point. This airport did not have any of the advanced scanners. So, I was randomly picked for "enhanced pat-downs" even though I did not buzz when I went through the metal detector.

During the 10 minutes I was waiting for the pat-down in the holding booth, I watched two people "handle" my property on the x-ray machine chute. I made a stink about lack of security and told the TSA people that they either secure my things or let me go. They brought me my things from the x-ray machine. It still took another 5 minutes for the "enhanced pat-down". All-in-all, I spent nearly 20 minutes at security after I sent my things through the x-ray machine.

I now understand why a few people have gone through security in swim suits. These pat-downs are invasive, very uncomfortable, time-consuming and they make you feel totally helpless and out of control.

While the TSA was polite, the whole the process is un-nerving.

I have 2 artificial knees and always set off the magnetometers so "enhanced patdown" became the routine until the body scanners came out, I couldnt agree more with your assessment David
