Toys from our childhood - 07-10-2011, 08:39 AM

My daughter is now the owner of many of my old hotwheels cars. This got the thinking about the cool Hotwheels USA play sets I used to have. Sadly I think they were sold at a garage sale, and now I cannot find them anywhere outside of a YouTube video showing 2 of the 3 sets.

This reminded me of the micro metal Star Wars toy sets I had that my mom sold for a few bucks at a garage sale.

I had all but the Death Star trash compactor:

I do still have all my Transformers.

Looks like they reissued the one set:
Amazon.com: Hot Wheels Mega City Pack Exclusive Including Auto Center, Downtown District and Hot Wheels Harbor: Toys & Games Amazon.com: Hot Wheels Mega City Pack Exclusive Including Auto Center, Downtown District and Hot Wheels Harbor: Toys & Games

Too bad it was $20 something and they want $170+!

I had a Big Loader Construction Set. It's still in my garage today.

So, I have been buying my daughter Hotwheels cars. I buy cool cars when I see e, and if she is good during something she gets one. I just found all of em I have bought that she hasn't been given and I have 14 new ones, and 5 older ones, plus two 5 packs.

Yeah, I guess I need to stop using her as an excuse. hahah

Bought 8 hotwheels and matchbox cars today, but two are for coworkers (1970 GTO Judge in the same color as his real one, and an 85 4Runner for a friend that had 8 of them in his yard at one point.)

My brother used to have the halls of justice, which was awesome. I always was a tomboy, so I had far more GI Joes than dolls. Used to love watching that show every saturday.

I've got a few sets of Micro start wars stuff I bought at an estate sale cheap. Always planned on using them to take some cool Macro shots, but have never got around to it.

Remember Lawn Darts?
Those were cool. I remember my cousin tossing one into our above ground pool. Interesting effect :D

Used to climb trees. The outdoors were my favorite "playthings" if you could consider it that. And books.

My mom wouldn't let me have a Barbie, but my cousin would make me paper dolls and that sort of made up for it :)

My dad used to give me these to play with. They weren't fun and people always took them away from me though.

Probably my Top Five Toys that I can remember as I child that I LOVED.....
I basically grew up during the "Game Board" Era, so electric toys were rare and VERY EXPENSIVE!
