I see tons and tons of moms with a basic camera getting into the photography business. The odd thing is they all do 'session giveaways' to try and get more people to like their pages. I don't get what the difference is in the number of likes. When someone just gets all their friends to like their page, what does that do for them?

FB is constantly changing, so I don't know if it still works this way. However, it used to be that if someone "likes" your fan page they will see any posts or updates you make. So the more people that like your page, the more will see your posts which can be marketing related. Which reminds me, don't forget to check out my facebook and "like" my page!

If you like a page, you're basically saying "Hey, it's ok if you spam me. No really go ahead, I don't mind!" unless you hide posts by the person or group, or Movie, etc.. that you "Liked".

I see. I'm facebook illiterate. I don't have a page, but my wife does. I was looking at different things and started seeing that.
