Any excuse to buy more Hot Wheels, eh? Our family owns hundreds of them. My husband has been collecting them since he was a kid, and we've been having a Hot Wheels race with our kids for the past 20 yrs. We do it every Christmas when they're home and use my husband's old tracks, gate, etc. from the 1960s (most of which they don't make anymore). We have 4 kids and one is married so now the daughter-in-law is included which makes way too many cars to get raced in a week so we've cut that down to 30 apiece now.

We even have a trophy called the Shockey Cup (our last name) and the winner gets to keep it (and the bragging rights) till the next race. This last year one of my cars went up against my husband for the trophy, the first time ever that a girl has made it to the end. Alas, my husband beat me! Here's a few pics I took last year. Lots of great family memories.

There are so many cars now that we came up with a bracketing system just like basketball.

Awesome, Charrie!! My parents sold my old tracks and sets. Been keeping an eye out to reacquire them.

Unfortunately, you can't find them anywhere! We've been looking for many years. That's why some of the track is black. And they definitely don't make the car release and flag posts at the end anymore. It's a pretty cool tradition that my kids look forward to every year. Eventually we'll have grandkids to get involved. :)

I recently came across my "lunch-box looking" case of Hot Wheels cars from the 1960's and early 1970's. It was in a box that had my camera equipment boxes and manuals in it. I thought my parents had sold the cars, along with the Track, in Garage Sales after I left home in the 1980's.

There are over 100,000 Hot Wheels items (Cars, Tracks, Sets) listed on eBay - hot wheels | eBay

Take Care,
