The high for today is predicted to be 108 degrees F. Much more of this stuff will turn Abilene into a Las Vegas, Nev., but with no casinos or mountains.

Waking up to clear skies can get depressing.

Same here in Tyler 108 yesterday and today then a cold front moves in and we get down to 106 tomorrow. This is the worst summer I can remember in my 42 years. There was one summer in the 80's but I still don't think it was this bad.

yeah, i try to focus on the future. tomorrow we load up a car and make the move to salt lake. it's a scorching mid to high 80's up there. but, their humidity is pretty high at 40-50%. :)

I am in the same boat, leave for Northern CA next Wednesday but am having a hard time keeping focused on the tasks at hand. Weather where I am going is in the 40's-50's at night and 70's-80's during the day. too bad I won't be able to stay there until the heat breaks here in November

Yep this is bad. The summer of 1980 was still IMHO worse. Maybe that had to do with the fact I was in basic training in San Antonio at the time.

Was outside a better part of the afternoon. When I got back in the car, it was 107 here in South Austin.

My mom has terra cotta colored ceremic tiles on her porch, and I stepped outside barefoot 2 days ago. I swear I heard my feet sizzle. I bet she can fry bacon on that porch! (No kidding!!!)
