i remember i had to take 2 hour long safety classes once a month and one of them was a Forklift Operators Safety Course. Uh hello. I work in a cubicle and there are NO FORKLIFTS in our building nor do they ever pertain to our services. crazy

I'm a stay at home mom...most important job in the world. I have NO training manual nor do I attend anything to help me with my job.....go figure. I don't think I want anyone telling me how to make a peanut butter and jelly anyway!!

I'm in IT and work for a financial institution, but once a year, I go through a couple of mandatory financial recerts mambo jumbo that I will never use, unless I switch career.

I had to take a sexual harassment training. Now I'm certified -- or certifiable.

Way back in the early fifties I was a crew chief on jet fighters in SAC.
The USAF would send mobile training units through to update us on our aircraft - F84 G or F models. Not taking was a must at the end of the day we would be told the information we just studied was top secret.

Our notes would be collected and destroyed. Wash, rinse, repeat ad infinitum.

Many years ago my mom worked civil service on Ft Hood. She had to attend a class on the proper destruction of secret documents. They were destroying some as a part of the class. During a break she said she knew she was told to be there, but as the director of the community theater she didn't feel it pertained to her.

They not only let her leave, they insisted.
