I think the NEX firmware added the LV Focus mask, but only on MF lenses or something. Need to mess with mine more.

So you want an A900 with the Nikon AF system/ISO and Canon control layout?

#4 already sorta exist... although it requires a computer to tether the camera to. onOne has a program for the iphone and ipad called DSLRemote.

I would really like to see Canon bring back the eye controlled focus-point selection from the old 7E, it would be a huge time saver when I'm shooting sports.

I would like enough dynamic range and low light performance that when I take 3 or more 30% ambient/70% flash-based shots rapidly, and the 3rd shot is black because the flash was recharging, that the only sacrifice is the lighting pattern from not having the direction and softness from the umbrella or wall-bounce situation. Because, inevitably, that third shot is the one that looks the best, expression/composition-wise.

That little bit of fantasy aside, I'd certainly expect at some point that dynamic range could be at least as good as my eyes perceive the world. I want trees bright enough to see, and I want the sky with some detail in it. I don't want to have to take 3 exposures and play around with software that cost hundreds that makes photos look like crap unless you have a degree in HDRology.
