I often volunteer my services to a couple of different rescue organizations, but usually my services are limited to photography. However, this time I'm fostering two puppies until they find their forever homes.
Their mom was seized from a hoarder when she was pregnant, and she then gave birth to a huge litter (12) while at the shelter awaiting the legalities to be worked out. Once they were, DFW Rescue Me pulled the little family from the shelter and placed them into a foster home. Now that they are big enough to be separated from their mom, they are available for adoption (and I took two to help the puppy foster out a bit). They're about 10 weeks old now and appear to be a shepherd mix of some sort (some are saying aussie/collie mixes). Mom is about 45-50 pounds and I'd expect the puppies to be about the same size - with some perhaps larger... but it's impossible to know for sure. They're ridiculously cute and sweet (one is sleeping on me as I type this).
Anyway, if you - or anyone you know - are interested in possibly adding a new puppy to the family, check out
DFW Rescue Me. They have these two plus others available!
This one is the biggest in the litter... he was (temporarily) named Buster, but I've been calling him Moose.
And this is Finn...
