The Art Institutes: Legitimate Photo Schools or Accessories to Fraud?

I hope none of you go there.

The feds claim the Art Institute defrauded the government of $11,000,000,000 from 03-11 in student aid.

I graduated from AIP in 1980. Even then we had a bunch of unqualified folks coming through there. People who just bought their first camera the week before starting. I specifically remember the first day, when we were given a bag of supplies, watching someone open and count the sheets of 8x10 Illford paper in the hall. I can count on one hand the number of classmates who were or are working in the field. In hindsight I wish I had gone to a "real school".
On the other hand, I had some very good and dedicated instructors.

Alot of the private correspondence and for profit schools are like that, and many have had trouble with the government.

I did some work on an investigation involving one of the largest schools right before Ike. It was eye opening the crap they pulled or tried to pull, and how much they get away with.
