Time to teach the oldest daughter (13) to shoot. Going to start with my Ruger MK II .22 and end up at Daddy's .45. I have a buddy whose 10 year old daughter can lock and load his AR-15 in under 8 seconds. And then put rounds down range in the "10" ring. Been teaching her since she was 6, and she is going deer hunting with him this year. THAT is a DADDY!

It's fun to teach them and watch them shoot. My girls got their first .22s at the age of four, and they've been shooting ever since. It's a little goofy having two pink Crickett rifles mixed in with all my others, but hey, at least they are interested.

This is one of our range trips earlier this year.

Good for you...I'm scared of guns....I need to learn about them so I'm not scared of them. All my boys shoot well, in fact my oldest went to state for skeet shooting last year.

Did you ever think you would see the day? I was beginning to wonder if there was such a thing as being 'rained out'.

My oldest daughter is 4 and has a pink cricket, she's shot it 2 times now and loves it. She can't wait to go hunting with me. Seems to be the going thing in my family, I shoot, the wife shoots, not the oldest daughter, when my youngest turns 4 she gets her own .22

*sniff*, my little babies became American Citizens this day by gift of the Second Amendment. 250 rounds later, they pronounced it "fun!" and want to go shooting again. They memorized the rules:

1) Always assume the gun is loaded.
2) Never, ever point a gun at anything you are not willing to destroy.
3) Keep your finger OFF the trigger until ready to shoot, and the gun is pointed down range.
4) Always obey the Range Master i.e. Daddy.

Love it! I taught mine to shoot as well. My youngest (redhead) was so cute when we got to the supressed MP5. In full auto she let out a burst and the RO got so tickled he yelled, "Rock n' Roll!" So grinning ear to ear, she let out the remainder of the clip on the target in one long song. She still double taps better than her husband to this day.
