Only if you make it black and white and add a ridiculous amount of contrast.

Gee. That sounds like a particular photo I took recently:

And here I thought it was "Artsy"...

Those kind of sites are useful, in that I usually find that the joke is on me. After laughing at bad images, and thinking about why they are bad, I suddenly realize that I have some that fall into the same categories when I look at my own images.

So, they can be a useful learning tool.

I an not a photographer, but a hobbiest. There are some incredible photographers on here with tons of knowledge to share and hopefully they are more concerned with sharing that knowledge and helping people become better photographers than insulting them. So far help is all i have experienced on here. Now there are some that only know the programed setting on there camera but pretend to be professionals and these are the ones I just ignore. To top it all off it's just not nice to pick on people, getting hit in the face with a 1ds with a big L lens on it might hurt!!!

Congrats Doc! Some people go to school for years to get to that point.

I understand some people's objection to a site like this.. but honestly, the author of that blog is not ridiculing just anyone with photos posted for public view.. and not even targeting hobbyists..

The target of that blog is the same "professional" photographer that so often is complained about on this very forum. So its ok to talk about "those" photographers in a generic way, but when it comes to pointing out them specifically its suddenly over the line?

Paco compared this site to the People of Walmart site... and while I found some humor in that site at first, as it got meaner and meaner - making fun of people who are just.. people.. I stopped reading it.

I've been following the YANAP blog for a month or more now, and the author has started trying to make it less making fun of them and make it a little more educational... and honestly, this may be just the kind of information that the general photo buying public needs to see.. that there IS a difference between someone who claims to be a pro on Facebook and those that really are.

while I don't think it's that cool to rip on someone for trying to be creative... some of those photochops are LOL.
