Methinks this was done with a contour camera, though.

I've had cameras fall off of 600 and 800mm lenses before. Numerous times when the lens was riding on the console beside me. Since the lens far exceeds the weight of the camera it is the lens that mounts to the tripod. In certain situations the camera can come off.
