Which one has been your favorite season? For me, it was the one with John Lithgow. I like Dexter but the one series that stands head and shoulders above all others is The Wire.

Favorite season? That one is tough. Ice Truck killer was a pretty good one. Season 5 wasn't as good as I hoped it would be, but it had Julia Stiles in it so it was good enough for me!

Paul, the patrol office has a tiny Sony P&S, that I can check out for the shift. Before we had a print/pic unit, it was handed out for the shift on a rotating basis. Even with my dainty little fingers, I am more likely to drop it than shoot anything with it. Everything in my rolling Pelican case is mine, from the 7D cameras on down. (Joyce gave me the Pelican case; it was too huge and heavy for her.) DAs tend to really love my images, amateurish as they are, because I can do things like make a scalp laceration look like a grand canyon.

Well, Paul, it is not equipment that makes the photographer; I am still just a beginner, like a teenager with a couple of fast cars. Moreover, it might have been better to upgrade computers before cameras. We have cameras that overwhelm our computers.

In hindsight, one Canon 5D Mark II, that can "see in the dark" a bit better, might have been a wiser move. Except for my nephew's soccer matches and swim meets, action shots and high frames-per-second are rare for me. Or, staying at the 40D level, and getting better glass sooner....

One thing that really irritated me about the 40D was the location of the power switch, making it vulnerable to being nudged to "off" by the belt or such. One of those hindsight-being-20/20 things is that I could have solved that with a battery grip, or rigging an improvised guard, far more cheaply that switching to cameras with top-mounted power
switches.
