Has anyone taken a DSLR into the Woodlands?? i am going to the Journey show tomorrow and have great seats. I would like to get some decent photos if I can. The website says;

All smaller bags, purses, camera bags and such MUST be searched thoroughly. Cameras are permitted as long as they are non professional and do NOT look like video cameras. THEY MUST FIT IN FRONT POCKET.

I can make my 7D /50 1.8 fit as long as I take the grip off, but has anyone had issues with the secirity guys there before???? What do they consider "non professional".

Slip the lens in one pocket of some baggy cargo pants and the body in the other.

Im guessing "fit in front pocket" means jeans pocket. You might lose if you play with the spirit of the rule.... As to the professional part, I would assume that no gate attendant really knows so any camera that has a detacable lens is probably gonna be seen as a pro setup, given the current state of point and shoots and camera phones.

That kinda blows... We have VIP parking so I'll have to flip a coin to decide if I chance it or not. At least it is a short walk back to the car...

Then you will have to deal with the possibilty of your camera being stolen out of your car. Just take a P&S and enjoy the show.
