Many successful images need explanations. Seeing a photo of a made jump shot doesn't necessarily mean that much until you learn that it was the one that won the championship at the buzzer.

If everyone is just standing around looking like a normal everyday jump shot, it will still be boring and won't live past it's single editorial use. OTOH a shot that won the championship is likely to have a bunch of excited people in it to tell the story and make the shot worth looking at years later whether you know the context or not.

Is there a national standard for critiques?
Framming,lighting,exposure,camera angle etc?
What if we had a panel to critique the shots?
I am quiet on others work due to ignorence and lack of experience.
Contest don't lie maybe we have more.
