I decided on Prague despite the expected low temperatures there in December and January. I will be splitting Prague into two visits, one on each end of my trip to Israel, as it made more sense logistically to fly round trip from Dallas to Prague. I will have a total of 7-9 nine days in the CR, so if you have been there and or have heard of any hidden gems that you would like to share, by post or PM, I am all ears. Thanks!

Salt mine cathedral: Wieliczka Salt Mine - UNESCO World Heritage Centre

Ossuary church: Sedlec Ossuary - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Never been there, just an armchair/drive through explorer these days.

I went to the Salt Mines. Amazing! Krakow is a night train away, Auschwitz is near by. Awful place to visit.

I am out of date on travel from Prague, but you might investigate a train ride to Munich, Germany afterwards on the way to the UK. There are some interesting things there as well as a nearby resort area of Garmisch-Partenkirchen with skiing and such, a cog train ride up the Zugspitze (the highest mountain in Germany on the German/Austrian border. There is also Oberammergau close by which is a picturesque village which hold the Passion Plays every decade.
