Like Mykey said, incorrect info. Canon, and I believe Nikon as well, uses light pulsing tech. to communicate that's why it's unreliable under bright sun. Not infrared.

She pointed on the receiving aspect which has NOTHING to do with sending a signal. Sadly due to people like this teaching this stuff photographers think the shinny black plastic above the blinky red light or even the red plastic area has something to do with sending a signal in Master mode. This has NOTHING to do with a single thing when in Master mode speaking to your wireless flash units. The flash head itself is the communicator which uses all bands of light to talk to the slave flashes. This video is completely wrong in so many areas it should be used in the education field of wireless flash how NOT TO TEACH.
