I can't believe they wasted a .50 on that.

Do they make enough money on hits to pay for those? I see drop tests and things on day 1 of a release and I just shake my head.

I didn't want to say it, but that WAS entertaining. A couple thoughts
- Love the shockwave at 1:54
- The iphone really did hold up well considering
- What was the pistol on his hip for? In case the phone returned fire??

i love that Barret 50 Cal... I saw a special on it and how it was designed it... supposedly has very little recoil as compared to other 50 cals...
for one... the muzzle is vented such that the escaping gas is directed back towards the shooter which helps offset the kick...
coolest thing in the vid was him handholding/firing that beast.

I remember a couple years ago someone up here shot a .50 cal in the air at a range a few miles from Texas Motor Speedway during a race. It came down through the roof of a trailer at the speedway. The guy claimed it must have recoiled but the birms faced the wrong direction for that. Plus I think a witness saw him shoot it in the air. What a DB.

All I remember is they went after him with felony charges and of course he'll get sued.
I havn't seen her since, possibly retired. If anybody wants to shoot one I know a place outside Shreeveport with a 1000 yard range but you have to qualify on the 300 yd first. Long-Range Alley Gun Club, LLC
15 miles south of Shreeveport, LA 5 mi. from I-49

coolest thing in the vid was him handholding/firing that beast. | Depends on the model. The M82A1 series has the floating barrel design with the springs that helps reduce recoil substantially while sacrificing some accuracy. The muzzle break is an absolute necessity on a .50. To my knowledge there isn't a .50 shoulder fired/non-crew served platform manufactured without a muzzle break.
What's really interesting is that they adapted a M82A1 to, get this, a 20mm shoulder fired system. It was scrapped for several reasons not the least of which was that it destroyed shoulders despite a beefed up spring system and butt stock ground spikes. To compare a .50 to a 20mm shell: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...comparison.JPG
