Why do I always get a leery feeling about things like this...

So,
I was trolling the Craiglist ads today in the "gigs" section just looking at posts where people are looking for photographers when I ran across this particular one.
Now, everything sounds ok except for a few points.
1) No link to the group? I'm always leery anyway when they claim that the photog must be a pro because this is for their modeling career, and yet they don't have any photos of themselves or a link to a model mayhem page or something. I did a search for teen music groups (and about 20 other different wordings) in Allen TX, and couldn't find anything except a highschool group...
2) Why did they feel the need to specify that they are "All attractive teen girls". I read that as "WARNING!!! WARNING!!! DANGER WILL ROBINSON!!! DANGER!!!"

Does anybody else get that... or am I just paranoid?

Seeking photographer for publicity photos

Need a photographer who can do some great HD high fashion/professional headshot/album cover/promotional style group photos of some girls that are in a teen singing group.

Looking for several group photos and a few individual photos of each group member. There are 3 primary group members that will be photographed. (All attractive teen girls).

Allen area. Prefer outdoors rather than in studio.

Quote must include hair make-up artist, retouching of several photos, copyright release and several photos on cd. Must have examples of your work.

We will narrow it down to photographers that have the kind of work we want in their portfolio. From that point, we will make final decision based on price. Looking to shoot photos around mid December.

Other members of the group come and go so most of the emphasis will be on the 3 permanent members. However, feel free to also include a quote for photographing the whole group, bearing in mind that this type of photo will need to be repeated frequently as group membership changes and because of that it will only be considered if the prices is extremely reasonable.

my experience with replaying to any gig ads is... paste a pre-written email, expect to get little response, or... or get told that no matter how low your price is, it's still not low enough.

Membership will change frequently? Apparently they have no faith in the singers or it's a school/church organization.

I'm just wondering why they had to point out that they were "attractive teen girls"... Seems more like a "To catch a predator" line to me...

The way I read it is -- "I want high quality images but I don't want to pay you...anything." Oh, and "attractive teen girls" is a warning sign. Run away...run away...

I'm quite sure that you're not a predator which begs the question as to why would it matter to you?

Seems like a line that would be written to target a certain type of people, which really makes me question what type of people they are if they want that type of person to respond.

If all this was the case then they wouldn't be asking for you to provide a quote including all the make-up artists, etc. This is too elaborate an ad to be a "to catch a predator" type.
