SWPPA print competition - 10-25-2011, 04:52 PM

This was held during the Texas PP A convention in September 2011.

http://www.ppa.com/pdfs/southwest_results2011.pdf

I think some of the photographers who post here entered prints. The results are listed alphabetically, by last name.

A print scoring an 80 or above will receive a PP A merit, but I believe they still have to be sent to the
PP A competition (not sure, but that is how it used to be). Only 4 prints per year can be entered. Anyway the official results can be found at the link above.

Yes, that is how it still is.

If you are interested in what I submitted, my case can be found here:

I keep it on a link rather than posting images direct to reduce the chances of a future judge stumbling upon them...

Thanks, Bruce.

If you get a chance to view all the entries somewhere, I highly recommend it.. you never know what might inspire you.

Does the PPA/TPPA/SWPPA post the photos once the competition is over for the year? As you say, good inspiration for others....

Hello Brad, of your images Morning Glide got the highest score but it was the boxer, "But the Fight Still Remains" is my favorite. I see drama and depth. "Knit Well Soon" gave me a bit of a chuckle. I love seeing your work.

I am wondering if you changed the name back to "Fruit and Fiber" , and sent it on to PP A, would it make a difference? I thought it deserved a better score, but maybe the name confused the judges.

Unfortunately I have seen that happen.

Ben - Yea.. its going to go back to the Fruit and Fiber title for Nationals.. plus a couple other minor changes... the others, of course, will go on just as they are since they have "seals"

Bruce - they will publish them at some point, but I don't know when...
