I know it's conspiracy theory etc but I read online (yeah I know truth huh) that the government funded a lot of Jason Pollacks art because it was a silent "middle finger" to the communists.

I get the irony that we (mainly photographers) are criticizing "art" but there comes a point of common thought I think. There are just some things that are universally pretty or artful where as some of this "art" seems because someone hyped it up. Honestly I go to the DMA all the time on their late night get togethers and half of the "art" in there I wouldn't consider art. Not attacking anyone personally but i just find it one of those "uppity" things.

So if I (or most of us on this forum) didn't like one of your photos that would mean it's not photography.

That's good to know. Before, I would have just thought to myself that I didn't care for it, or maybe go as far to say it was poorly executed photography because of this, that and the other. But now I won't even bother and I'll just dismiss it as toilet matter and ask you why you are posting it on a photography forum.

Yeah, no kidding. You too can make millions on suckers with a modest investment of $100 in paint, brushes, and dribble..... I can see the spam ad now.

One has to wonder how many of those "artists" are laughing their way to the bank. Kind of makes me want to go buy an arc welder, some scrap metal, and a cheesy french beret and go find an art exhibition...
