vufind: News

So I guess the day has come when companies can take our photos and post at will?
Am I reading this right?

I already caught them with one of my images posting it and taking compliments as if they took or created the image on facebook.

They even cropped out my watermark and copyright.
I think I am done with social networks.

Guess you all better head over there as welll to see if he has any of your images.

Keith, did you click on the "Report the Photo" and then "Is this your intellectual property?"?

This one is Mangelson.: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?f...e=1&permPage=1

I somehow think he'd be pissed. I just emailed that link to him.

Got any PPA contacts? Maybe a cease and desist letter and/or bill?

Sounds like a letter from a lawyer might open his eyes to the fact that images on the internet are not ok to steal.

Yeah, screw that guy. Internet does not equal free use. At least they pulled yours.

I'd go to imagerights.com, open a case and have them collect the infringement fee for you.

If they crop out your watermark, you are entitled to $2,500 to $25,000 in damages plus attorney's fees.

My lawyer is Photo Attorney - she is awesome.

Speaking of which, does anyone else who is non-pro register their images once a quarter? At least, that's what I do as I remember you have 90 days after publishing to register w/copyright office.
