Unhappy NOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Matt Schaub out for year. - 11-14-2011, 06:05 PM

Houston Texans quarterback Matt Schaub will miss the rest of the season with a Lisfranc injury, a league source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

Coach Gary Kubiak said earlier Monday that Schaub was injured on a quarterback sneak coming out of the end zone late in the second quarter of Houston's 37-9 win over Tampa Bay on Sunday. Schaub stayed in the game, but threw only three passes.

That is why it is so incredibly hard to win a Championship.

Everything has to go your way.

With the running game going as well as it is, there is still a god chance for some playoff victories.

Don't give up yet...

Ravens did it a few years back without a qb with a strong defense and a running game. Schaub hasnt thrown much lately even though the opponents havent had a winning record.

I think if Leinart gets time with the 1st teamers he'll do fine. If all else fails, double up with foster and tate/ward in the backfield. We have killer tight ends and when AJ gets back, we'll have a deep threat again. Leinart needs to just read the defense

I'm not giving up. Just frustrated a tad.

I am actually optimistic. I think Matt Leinart has a stronger arm and is more accurate than Shaub. Let's see if Leinart can run the offense and not make stupid mistakes.

Exactly.

I have been waiting for Romo to do the same.

You should have seen him yesterday, then. He was perfect.

Even though he's from USC, Leinart is a decent quarterback. Hopefully he's up to the task and will step up to the plate.

You didn't watch many of his games in Arizona, did you?

If I didn't know better I would of sworn that was a back handed slap.

Left-handed compliment....

[I grew up in SoCal, and always rooted for UCLA, and any other team that played USC.]

That's too bad. Things were looking up.

QBs are never more than a snap of the ball away from the end of their season. Teams really need to carry three QBs even though there is a lot of pressure from the front office. Ecause of the cost of doing so and the limited number of roster spots.

Even so, there are only so many really good ones and few of them are ready to step in and do what needs to be done without going through a rather steep learning curve.

Why was he still in the game anyway? Cleanup time is when you let the other guys get some experience and rest the key people...it's a long season.

Romo has the third highest quarterback rating in NFL history. He only trails Steve Young and Aaron Rodgers.

He is number 4 in NFL history for yards per attempt at 8.1.

It just goes to show that some people are never satisfied.

The statistic that Romo has not excelled in is the one that many Cowboys fans care about most, playoff victories on the way to the Superbowl. Yes, the standard set for QBs with the star on their helmet is quite high.

Romo has been in difficult circumstances wht with undisciplined receivers, offensive lines that let him be used as a tackling dummy and less than stellar coaching. He is in the best situation of his career at the moment, but the coaching staff has frittered away a number of wins by poor game management and failure to reign in Romo's "gunslinger" instincts when a game is in hand.

But, yes, you are right. Many, if not most, Dallas fans are not satisfied with Romo's stats and won't be until he wins "the big one".

Well said Richard. I am very excited about the possibilities right now. With the exception of Miles Austing being injured, we have our key players healthy for once (most of them). What really has me excited is Demarco Murry! I am trying not to get my hopes up. I have seen some flash in the pan running backs that had a few great games and then nothing. But this guy truly seems to have what it takes to be a great one. A runnin game is so important and is what the Cowboys have been lacking. Now let's just hope Murry can keep a level head.
