My feet hurt after weddings....What kind of shoes do you wear? - 11-20-2011, 12:37 PM

I tend to move a lot during weddings. By the end of the day my feet hurt. My wife says I should change my shoes... Have you ever experienced this? I know this may sound silly but my feet still hurt from last night wedding.. What kind of shoes do you wear during weddings?

Ecco's are pretty comfortable for "dressier" shoes.

Rockport shoes are also comfortable, but I prefer the ecco's over Rockports. I'll add, I dont shoot weddings.

Merrell of course. Yes I am vain.

Actually the model which laces almost to the toe which allows you to adjust the snugness throughout its length.

As much as it sounds counter-intuitive I've known many nurses and surgeons who claim/swear true Scandanavian clogs are the most comfortable footwear for 12 hour plus standing work days.

I've got a couple of pairs of rubber soled johnston murphy's that I can wear all day with very little discomfort -- most comfortable dress shoe I have ever worn.

for slightly more casual, I have a pair of Josef Siebel shoes that are amazing.

Nevermind -- I'll take care of it myself!

Dansko History
Since 1990, Dansko has been a leader in providing innovative comfort footwear while standing at the forefront of sustainable and ethical business practices. Dansko is owned and operated by their founders, husband and wife team Mandy Cabot and Peter Kjellerup. They distribute shoes and boots to over 2,500 premium US and international retail locations. Dansko literally translated from Danish means “Danish Shoe”.
Mandy and Peter discovered Dansko's first product while on a horse-buying trip to Peter’s native Denmark. After realizing that this basic shoe would be perfect for wearing around the barn, they brought a few pairs back to the US. Right away, friends wanted to try the clogs and with each trip to Denmark, Mandy and Peter were bringing back more and more pairs. Soon, they found themselves selling clogs out of their station wagon as they drove from horse show to horse show. By 1993, they sold their horse farm to devote themselves full-time to building Dansko. Today, Dansko's offerings include sandals, boots, heels, flats and many types of clogs. Every pair is infused with the same all-day comfort found in our original stapled clog.<<

Would have to say not Birkenstocks.

I work (mostly standing) 12 hour days and have also found this type of shoe the most comfortable.

I'm an aircraft mechanic, so I'm typically drilling holes most of the day - this type of shoe has the added benefit (what initially drew me to them) of not having an opening (the tongue) for metal shavings to migrate inside the shoe. My feet don't hurt after a 12 hour shift, and I don't have to pick metal shavings out of my socks anymore.

Back in the almost Brown Shoe days on the flight line my criteria for shoes was the soles not not melt after stepping in JP4 or Mil-5606 hydraulic fluid. Less of a hazard on the fighters as it was on the C-124s. Not as far to the ground.

Yeah - there's always that too. Luckily, where I work now, I mostly never have to touch that stuff.

The aircraft are pretty much drained & dry by the time I get to them.
