Thumbs up Another great B&H experience - 11-29-2011, 11:57 PM

Just want to share this... I checked the price of a light kit on Sunday night, but when I placed my order as a NAPP member, the price came up just over $100 more than the published price. I contacted B&H yesterday inquiring why the discrepancy, and they processed a refund for me for the difference. I expected no less, but they are one of the best and why I continue to patronize them when Arlington Camera doesn't have what I need. After six years, I've never been disappointed!

I've never ordered from there before. Looking to kick things off with a 60" Impact umbrella.

I think if you are buying new equipment they are great. Never had an issue with them or Adorama. However, if you are purchasing "used equipment" I would NEVER BUY FROM THEM! Stick to KEH, they actually test the equipment before they sale it. What a great idea!!! And cheaper too!!!

I bought a refurbished 24-105 from B&H a couple of years ago, and it's flawless. But I understand what you're saying.

All my B&H and Adorma used purchases have gone very well, although I agree KEH is very trusted.

When I ordered my 70-200 2.8 IS II last year, I ordered it from them. I canceled the order before it shipped because I wanted to add a 7D to the order and get the combined discount. I finally got my almost $2,000 back 18 days later. Surprising, since the lens never left their facility. The most annoying thing was how they were continually dishonest and unapologetic about how long it would take(was taking) to refund the money. When I posted a negative review on resellerratings, I didn't see it for several days. When I finally did see it, it was buried under pages of glowing reviews. I don't know if that was intentional, but I do know that I will never give them anymore business.

Well, no one is perfect, and that includes B&H. Things happen. I would encourage you to not let one negative experience tarnish their image forever in your mind. They really are a great merchant and worth another chance, I believe. If they weren't, they wouldn't have the customer base that they do.

I think they concentrate on getting orders out fast, and to hell with everything else. Maybe I'm completely wrong, but when you call a company and they say they'll refund your money($2,000) in 3 days, then you call back in 4 when it hasn't happened, then in another 3 days, then another 3 days, then ANOTHER 3 DAYS, THEN ANOTHER 3 FREAKING DAYS it hasn't showed up, there's something very seriously wrong with the way you're doing business.

Would I buy from them again? You bet I would and already have.

I posted about a used lens purchase earlier and the issue was resolved, it just took a lot longer than expected. I had about $400 tied up and waiting for a refund to my credit card.

If I still had all the money that B&H has taken from me, I'd have a lot of money. Of course, I wouldn't have any camera equipment. :) I've never had a problem with them either.
