Houston Pixtus Photowalk - FEEDBACK NEEDED!! - 12-05-2011, 05:01 PM

Looking to have a photowalk this weekend, but we need some feedback on start time and if people want to do dinner afterwards and whatnot before I can create the event thread.

We were thinking Sunday (12/11/2011) afternoon at the Rice University campus. I know some people want to watch the Texans' game, but light is limited, so thinking of starting at 3, but maybe earlier if people want to record the game instead of watching live (and a 3pm start time would require you to miss the end of the game, which has been rather vital for the Texans).

For the after dinner, there is always Rice Village, but Bernies Burger Bus has also been suggested. It's located at the Boneyard Drinkery in the Heights on Sundays from 1-5pm. (We'd need an early start time to get there before they close.)

Let me know what you think!

If the forecast is for overcast skies, then expect it to start getting dark around 5 instead of 540. The question is if, we start at 3 sharp, is 1.5hrs enough to roam?

I'm pretty much open this Sunday, food, my stomach isnt picky

That late in the day in the wintertime, allows for everyone to be able to shoot what they like.
Some can shoot in the sweet light, some can do dusk photography, and some can shoot night shots.

Plane tickets are too expensive on this short of a notice.

What about a Christmas lights photowalk?

And just realized that lessons and carols is Sunday at six. Luckily, it's next to Rice, so I'm still good, but dinner's out for me. (I have to go to church the one day there's very little church involved in the service )

I have a meetup in San Francisco on Saturday evening. So it'd be tough to make it to both.

Got a busy month actually.
Shoot in the city this weekend.
Next Saturday is the Dickens Faire (shooting there).
Next Sunday, heading to Big Sur for a photo event.
Then Christmas.
Then New Years.

You know, I haven't seen any of your meetups listed on the forum. Apparently you don't want to hang out with any of your Cali brethren...

Ooh, it's not like that.
I've gotten together to shoot with several members of this forum on many many occasions. In fact, I even dragged Abel all the way from Texas for one!

The shoot on Saturday, is actually from Meetup.com. I didn't setting up, and it's full (there's a limit).

Next week, the Dickens Faire is open to anyone who wants to go.
We are going with a bunch of friends who are dressing up, and I'm going to shoot them at the Faire.

Sunday is another meetup.com thing. It's actually full, and I can't get on the list. But I know where they're gonna be, and I'm crashing.

Maybe I'd rather hang with you folks from Texas?
In fact, John (DigitalScape) is going to be out here next week.
We're going to try to get together and go shooting, if we can arrange our schedules.
